Kung Fu Panda 2

Rating: Pretty Damn Good!

This film really proves that intelligence has not quite died off in the world. Kung Fu Panda balances philosophy and inner turmoil with comedy and action, love and drama to create something for everyone. It’s so rare that a sequel is good, but this one may actually be better than the first, and that’s even more scarce a phenomenon.

What you may not like:

-There wasn’t much I didn’t like with the movie, there were some dry areas that were kind of boring
-They flip flop back and forth with the character’s dilemma a few too many times

What you’ll love:

-Great 3D if you see it in 3D
-Great Story
-Great moral and theme
-Great Characters
-Great Voice Acting
-Intricately designed fight scenes that actually feel pretty real
-Good beginning, middle and end, no loose ends that I could notice

I was truly impressed with the depth and complexity of the story. I like that they pushed the envelope and trusted people to be smart enough to keep up. It’s when you challenge your audience and reward them at the end that intelligence becomes a part of their life. These movies encourage a person to excel and not simply take less for their life because it’s easier than failure.

Adults loved it as much as children. It’d make a good compromise for a date movie I think. I think I’m actually going to buy both of these movies, I’ll have to see if they’re going to make a third because I’m a sucker for boxed sets. It is definitely worth full price in theaters. It’s worth the extra cash for the 3D, it totally adds to the experience. Not the best 3D I’ve ever seen, How to Train Your Dragon was probably better 3D, regardless, it’s good enough that it’s worth the cash.

What’d you think?
